To be happy in life, make your own decisions.
I am one of those people who used to be afraid of making my own
decisions, i used to be much worried about what my friends and other
people would say. I would rather do what my friends wants me to do. I
became a biggest loser because i was not strong enough to do want i
wanted to do. Sometimes i could do something wrong just to please my
friends. I remember the time when i failed my exams in high school and
my friends passed, that's where i decided to be myself and to do what
best for me. From the moment i started to make my choices, to decide who
to or not to hang out with i became a better person. From the
experience i have, you can show me your friends and i can show you your
future.
Surround yourself with greatness. The people who you surround yourself with in your life are important, if you surround yourself with people who build you up, who make you grow, who challenge you to be better, you going to become great. On the other hand if you you surround yourself with people who just tear you down, who tell you all the reasons why it won't work, who tell you that you are not good enough, or tell you what to do with your life, i call them ''the little man''. If you surround yourself with ''the little man'', then soon you will become a little man. If you do things you want, you can create a new reality that didn't exist before.... Do things because it's the right thing to do, because you were meant to do, because you feel it and that comes from your heart. Not because your friends or anyone wants you to do it.
Challenge everything you hear, regardless who its coming from. Juggle the advice, weigh out your options, see if it is a viable option for you., and be adamant that the decision is ultimately what you want. Don’t act on advice just because you think its the right thing to do; the only right thing to do is to make your own choice and to live with it. This is your life and your choices pave the road ahead of you. If you’re afraid of making a decision, then treat it as a good sign; fear can be used as a good thing; when you’re fearful, that means you’re most likely standing up for something, and breaking past that fear and making a choice will ultimately shape who you are.
For too long I went to school and applied in majors that I truly didn’t want. At first it sounded interesting, but now looking back at all those meetings I had with guidance counselors and professors and friends, I didn’t make the decision for myself: I had it made for me. I just ran with it and eventually realized that this wasn’t what I wanted. You will face this situation multiple times in your life. The point is to not beat yourself up because of it. Move past it. Learn from it. And then make your own decision best suited to your desires. Why do something you really hate when other options are available? Make your decisions. Live your life. And enjoy it. That’s all you can really do.
And one think you should know is that ADVICE IS JUST ADVICE. When we seek out for help, there are many times when we hear one thing and are so compelled by it that we literally swear by it. This is wrong. This is where I went wrong. You must challenge everything you hear and only take it for what it is, not an ultimate decision, no matter who its coming from.
Sure, advice is great, especially from those you trust and respect. But does that mean you should take their advice and ride it out? Absolutely not. Ultimately, you aren’t making a decision for yourself; you are having the decision made for you. By placing how you live your life in someone else's hands, you are setting yourself up for failure and unnecessary stress. At first you think what you’re doing is what you want. Later down the road you find out that it’s completely the opposite. Should you be angry and frustrated? No. You should see it as a lesson learned. Be thankful that it happened sooner than later. Realize that it is never too late to turn around. Never.
