Time flies

Image
Today's thought Time flies, and memories fade. People change and new friendships are made. Only the true remain forever at our side. Eventually the disappointment and pain will subside. It is all about the journey and what has yet to come. Life is what you make of it; you are what you've become. Life is too short to hold onto regrets. Forgiveness is key even though you may never forget. Cherish the good and remove the bad. Some people don't realize till it's gone what they've had. Moving on is a way of life. There will always be obstacles, pain, and strife. You must believe that you are strong enough to fight. You have to believe in yourself to do what is right.  Always do for YOU no matter what you do, Because in the end the only one who has your back is you. Never be afraid to take a stand, And always be willing to lend a helping hand. A little bit goes a long way. All it takes is a smile to brighten someone...

Truth to be told

As you look back on your life, you will realize that many of the times you thought you were being rejected from someone or something you wanted, you were in fact being redirected to someone or something you needed. Seeing this when you’re in the midst of feeling rejected, however, is quite tough. I know because I’ve been there. As soon as someone critiques, criticizes, and pushes you away as soon as you are rejected you find yourself thinking, “Well, that proves once again that I’m not worthy.” What you need to realize is, the other person or situation is NOT worthy of YOU and your particular journey. Rejection is necessary medicine; it teaches you how to reject relationships and opportunities that aren’t going to work, so you can find the right ones that will. It doesn’t mean you aren’t good enough; it just means someone else failed to notice what you have to offer. Which means you now have more time to improve yourself and explore your options. Will you be bitter for a momen...

Make a promise to yourself

Image
Life is not all rainbows and butterflies.  It can be tough sometimes.  And you've paid a heavy price to get this far, so the best option is to really make it count by moving forward from where you are.  Free yourself from the world's negativity  from the sources of ignorance telling you what you can and cannot do  by promising to look ahead, to live ahead, and to get ahead.  In other words, start making positive promises to yourself! Promise to fight back, to fight harder, to laugh louder and longer and slap adversity back into its seat whenever it dares to stand against you.  Promise to be a force to be reckoned with – because you are a force to be reckoned with. Make these promises to yourself, and keep them forever.  "I will not hold the past against myself."   Your problems, your weaknesses, setbacks, regrets and mistakes teach you if you're willing to learn, or they will punish you if you're not.   So let them teach you, ...

YOU WILL EXPIRE ONE DAY

Mark Twain says "I do not fear death. I had been dead for billions and billions of years before I was born, and had not suffered the slightest inconvenience from it." Along with the gift of self-awareness comes awareness of our mortality. Your battery is running down and can’t be recharged. We prefer not to think about what we wish wasn’t so, but the tragedy is that we’re mortal, not that we know we’re mortal. Knowledge yields power, and by accepting that your time is limited, you can use this information to live better. How? Be grateful for the time you have. You can lament that your time is finite, or you can rejoice that you have any time at all. You didn’t do anything to deserve a life. The sequence of events necessary for you to have arisen out of nothing were so unimaginably improbable that you should be stunned that you’re here. Out of all of the people who could’ve existed, you’re among the vanishingly small percentage who actually do. You can complain that you...

Happy mother's day

Who can deny the importance of a woman as a mother, who bears all the pain and gives birth to you and me, the individuals who grow up under the encapsulation of her care, her love, her sacrifice and her dedication. The love of a mother for her child can't be compared to anything in this world. Will anyone deny the role our mother plays in grooming us up?? I don't think so !! And today allow me to thank my mother Elizabeth Chigwededza ( MRS KANYAMA) i can't explain enough what she did for me, all i can say is thank you for being my mom. Also i am privileged to have someone who was and is still an inspiration to me, my other mother Esther Kapereke ( Mai Kapereke) words only can not express my gratitude to these 2 mothers. A long the curves and bumps in my life journey, I have been fortunate to have mentors to steer me in the right direction, to get me back on track and to cheer me on at the finish line. Most of them have bee...

Believe in yourself

Image
Today one of my colleague asked me a question, he wanted to know the secret behind my successes. My answer to him was simple, prayer and believing in myself. Oh yes my secret is simple i pray and i believe in myself.     Norman Vincent Peale once said , ''Believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers you cannot be successful or happy". Brad Henry said, ''Believe in yourself, and the rest will fall into place. Have faith in your own abilities, work hard, and there is nothing you cannot accomplish''. There may be days when you get up in the morning and things aren’t the way you had hoped they would be. That’s when you have to tell yourself that things will get better. There are times when people disappoint you and let you down. But those are the times when you must remind yourself to trust your own judgments and opinions, to keep your life focused on believing in yourself. There wil...

Word, moment and time

Image
When i was chatting with my old classmate on facebook , she is in Zimbabwe. She reminded me about something she once told me in high school. She said, ''Petros i remember when i used to mock you and used to say bad things about you, now you are a better person compared to me, at least you are now pursuing your degree, i have been following your articles and i can see your progress, awards you have been getting and as for me all i have now is a 1 and half year old baby boy, single parent in that matter, i regret every word i said, moment and time i wasted. i wish i could get a chance to start over again". I remember one day when i lost in quiz competition back in high school, she started laughing with her friends in front of me, and said, "you little boy do you think you can do anything in life" and that time i think i was one of the 3 shortest students in our class if not in the whole stream.. It's a lesson that we can all learn from it. Three thin...
